Existing health service facilities in Nepal are still insufficient to meet the growing need of reliable health care. This is why a significant number of patients are going to different hospitals of neighboring countries like India and Thailand for treatment. Ultimately this causes drainage of huge amount of foreign exchange from Nepal and great inconvenience to patients and their relatives. Urgent need for establishment of well equipped and reliable health care centre of international standard has always been felt.
Well trained and dedicated medical specialist is available in our own country. If team spirit of these dedicated doctors is matched with efficient management and modern technology the existing health service scenario should change to better side.
To meet the increasing needs and demands for quality health care services, Medicare National Hospital & Research Centre Ltd. is established as a public limited company in Kathmandu, Nepal.

OUR HISTORY
A group of medical practitioners from Nepal established Medicare Nepal (P) Ltd. in 1990 for operation of Medicare Nursing Home with 10 beds in Kathmandu valley with the aim to cater the highest quality of health services within the country. A team of young, enthusiastic and dedicated doctors working at Medicare Nepal Nursing Home felt the necessity to grow up a much better health centre with modern technology and better facilities. Their enthusiasm was supported by another group of medical and non - medical persons resulting the established of well a equipped and modern health care centre of an international standard- Medicare National Hospital & Research Centre Ltd. with 30 beds in 1997 and later on the beds were increased to 75 beds including ICU/CCU and close Psychiatric ward which are the first in private sector in the country. Now hospitals has indoor capacity of 100 beds and more than 50 consultant different specialities.
The success has given us and motivation and inspiration promoters and fellow colleagues to lunch a new project in the health sector.
Upon completion of the construction of multi speciality with ICU/CCU, Cath Lab, Open Heart Surgery, Joint Replacement Surgery, Interventional Gastroenterological Services, Lithotripsy, and many other super speciality diagnostic and curative facilities.
Stat-of-the-art hospital, Medicare National Hospital & Research Centre Ltd. will offer primary, secondary and tertiary health care activity.

FROM THE BEGINNING

1992
The Medicare Nursing Home founded on 8th Shrawan with a registered capital of Rs. 7,60,000/-

1993
The Medicare started operation with the total of 10 beds at Putalisadak, Ktm.

1997
The Medicare has expanded in a from of Medicare National Hospital & Research Centre Ltd. with increased a registered capital of Rs. 5,00,00,000/- as issued capital.

1997
The centre started its operation with 50 beds on 31 August 1997.

1997
On 27 December 1997, the centre has started ICU/CCU service in Nepal with pride to be the first private hospitals in Nepal to start such facility.

1998
On 17 January 1998, the centre has set another record with pride for being the first biggest 25 bedded closed Psychiatric Ward at very moderate cost.

1999
Though the hospital has been performing surgeries since its inception, if added more facility for setting up advanced Operational Theatre.

OUR MISSION
Medicare National Hospital & Research Centre is expanding its operation in various ways in order to provide better curative, preventive, and also rehabilitative facilities with latest technologies to the people at moderate and affordable cost within the country. Flow of funds out of country can be reduced.
