Aawhan Samuha is a community based non-governmental organization established
to promote art, culture and literature in the society. Established in 1989,
this institution has been organizing programs to recognize and honor national
personalities who have dedicated their lives in the field of art, culture,
literature and community service. Aawahan Samuha also regularly organizes events
such as drug awareness programs, food and clothes raising programs for flood victims,
blood donations, AIDS awareness programs and programs in other environment related
issues. All the programs are financed by the ordinary people and business people of
the Chabahil community and conducted and operated by young students and volunteers.

The most popular and regular event organized by our group is the felicitation of
the students of Ward no. 7 who have passed SLC(School Leaving Certificate) examinations
in first division. This program has been running annually since the past 15 years.
Following our tradition, many organizations in the capital city have started organizing
this type of event in their localities.
